Sarah E. Burger, 90, of Norwalk, Ohio, went home peacefully to be with her heavenly father early Thursday, October 31, 2013, at Gaymont Nursing Center.
She was born on October 1, 1923 in Oneida, Tennessee, to the late Isaac G. and Laura E. (Bowling) Orick, and lived in this area since 1952.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and dedicated her entire life to the Lord. She had worked at Fanny Farmer, K-Mart, Fair Publishing, Twilight Gardens, Norwalk Memorial Home, Starkey's, Briarfield, Home Health and Easter Seals. Sarah enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, loved sports, especially the Cleveland Browns, and the Cleveland Indians, loved to cook, especially holiday dinners with the whole family.
She is survived by her children, Nancy M. and Ron Cross, of Norwalk, Ohio Robert L. "Bob" and Rose Burger, of Norwalk, Ohio, Cecil E. and Ruth Burger, of Norwalk, Ohio, Thomas H. and Barb Burger, Homer A. and Michele Burger, Norwalk, Ohio. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Beecher Burger in 1972, by her son Hoyle E. Burger in 2008 by her brothers Edward, Victor, Sherman, and Paul, and by her sisters Mary and Elizabeth.
Friends may call on Sunday, November 3, 2013 from2:00p.m. until 5:00p. m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main St., Norwalk, Ohio. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 4, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in Calvary Baptist Church, 250 Benedict Ave., Norwalk, Ohio. Rev. James McClain will officiate. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
