Lauren Harmon-Griffith, 54, of Huron, gave up her long and courageous battle with cancer and went to be with her heavenly Father on Thursday evening, October 31, 2013 in The Meadows at Osborn Park.

Lauren was born in Bremerhaven, Germany on February 26, 1959, and lived most of her life in Evansville, Indiana.

She attended grade school, high school, and community college in Evansville, and had a degree in computer operations. She worked for many years as a general manager for Anser Phone in Evansville and for Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky.

She was a member of both Zion Lutheran Church in Huron and the Huron Eagles. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, reading, shopping, and visiting with her friends by telephone. She delighted in spending time with her family. She especially loved the Huron Library.

Lauren is survived by her father and step-mother, Gary and Dona (Gurske) Harmon, of Huron; brother and sister, Justin Harmon, of Huron, and Jennifer (Charles) Capizzi, of Sandusky; beloved grandmother, Juanita Harmon, of Huron; niece and nephew, Cassidy and C.J. Capizzi; and step-daughter and companion, Sara Wargle and Arthur Griffith, both of Louisville, Kentucky.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Sammye K. (Logsdon) Harmon.

At Lauren's request, cremation has taken place. Friends may call on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 from 10 A.M. until 11 A.M. at Zion Lutheran Church, 930 Main St., Huron. Memorial services will begin at 11 A.M. with Rev. Mandy Oleson officiating. Burial will follow in Scott Cemetery, Huron.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Lauren's name to Stein Hospice Service, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870 or to The Meadows at Osborn Park (formerly the Erie County Care Facility), 3916 Perkins Ave., Huron, OH 44839.
