David E. Coy, 73, residing in Huron, passed away Friday afternoon, November 1, 2013 at Stein Hospice Care Center after a brief illness.
David was born on August 18, 1940 in Columbia City, Indiana to the late Earnest and Mable (Caskey) Coy.
He was employed with the N & W Railroad, was a Real Estate Agent in North Caroline, drove truck in the Sandusky area for a number of years and was most recently employed with the Sandusky Transit System. He was a member of the Teamsters Union. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching the lake and nature, he also enjoyed fishing, taking drives, helping others and spending time with his family and friends.
David is survived by his significant other Dottie Chavarria of Huron, three daughters Cheri (Tim) Grable of Fort Wayne, Ind., Kimberly Pelfrey of Columbia City, Ind., and Kristi (Troy) Goldner of Columbia City, Ind., one step-daughter Vanessa Brionez of Norwalk, Ohio, one son Jeffrey D. Coy of Columbia City, Ind., one step son Lan Coy of Fort Wayne, Ind., nine grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, one special step-granddaughter Dayzia Brionez, five great-grandchildren five sisters, three brothers and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by his wife Bobbie Dean Moffit-Coy in 2002 one brother and one sister.
Friends may call on Tuesday November 5, 2013, from 5 to 8 PM at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday November 6, 2013 at 10:30 AM in the funeral home. David's son-in-law Tim Grable will officiate. Entombment will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park.
