Maribell R. (Stierhoff) Bauman, 76, residing in Sandusky, passed away Monday evening, November 4, 2013 at Stein Hospice Care Center after a lengthy illness.
Maribell was born on May 27, 1937 in Sandusky, Ohio to the late George W. and Ruth H. (Trott) Stierhoff.
Maribell was a graduate of Sandusky High School. She was employed as a customer service representative for Periodical Publishers for over 25 years before retiring in 2007. Maribell was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Sandusky Eagles. In her spare time, she enjoyed puzzles, bowling, ceramics, crocheting, crossword puzzles and reading. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren, she was their personal cheerleader. She also loved spending time with her family and friends.
Maribell is survived by her daughter, Diane L. (Gary) Wolfe of Sandusky; sons, Robert N. (Dawn) Bauman, Bryon L. (Agnes) Bauman, Leonard R. (Hazel) Bauman; six granddaughters, Erin (Joe) Achtermann, Caitlyn (Jeremy Bonner) Bauman, Jaclyn (Matt) Anderson, Amber Wolfe, Bryanna Bauman and Mallory Bauman: a great-granddaughter, Kennedy Achtermann; brothers, Norman (Ruby) Stierhoff and James (Freida) Stierhoff; two sister in laws, Flo Stierhoff and Sandy Roeder and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Maribell is preceded in death by her husband, Neil R. Bauman in 1982; siblings, Paul, Donald and Doris Stierhoff; step-siblings, Harold Stierhoff and Florence Heuser and half sister, Janet Junten.
Friends may call on Thursday, November 7, 2013 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave. Sandusky. Friends may also call Friday November 8, 2013 from 10:00 am until time of funeral services at 11:00 am at Zion Lutheran Church, 503 Columbus Ave. Sandusky with Pastor John Mawhirter presiding. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron, Ohio.
