Dorothy Ann Wiggins

Dorothy Ann Wiggins 61, Sandusky, died Wednesday, January 19, 2011, in the Cleveland Clinic, after an extended illness.

She was born on November 27, 1949 in Gallatin, TN to the late Christine Harris McClain and Burnley Ray Kelley. Dorothy attended Union High and Tennessee A & I College. She moved to Detroit, MI, where she met her devoted husband Robert L. Wiggins, and they later moved to Sandusky, OH where she continued her career with Kmart for over 30 years. She was a member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church, Sandusky, where she was in the choir and on the usher board. Dorothy was active in her communities and various groups, the NAACP, WIN, and a volunteer at the Sandusky State Theatre for many years. She loved to travel and spend time with her grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her memories, husband, Robert L. Wiggins; children, Robert (Becky) Wiggins Jr. of Kentucky, Natasha (Redd) Wiggins, Sandusky, and Cortney (Trisha) Wiggins, California; daughter-in-law, Amber Wiggins, Indiana; grandchildren, Hannah C. Wiggins, Amelia R. Wiggins, Asia M. Wiggins, Devin M.K. Wiggins, Hayden X. Wiggins, Kyleighe R. Wiggins, Talia M. Smalls, and Jayla M. Smalls; sisters, Ada (Larry) Carter-Downing, Virginia Gentry, Belinda (Leon) Greer, Beatrice Russell, all of Tennessee, and Eva Jo (Ronnie) Malone, Kentucky; brother, Tommy (Niece) Kelley, Tennessee; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Barbara Jean Russell; brother, Jimmy Andrew Kelley; and step-father, Willie C. McClain.

Friends may call on Tuesday, January 25, 2011, from 11 A.M. until time of funeral services at 1 P.M. in the New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 1920 Shelby St. Sandusky. Rev. Curtis J. Johnson Jr., will officiate. Burial will be in Nashville, Tennessee. Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, is handling the arrangements.
