Eleanor McIntosh, 80, Sandusky, passed peacefully from this life to eternal life surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, January 21, 2011, in Stein Hospice Care Center.
She was born on October 10, 1930 in Anderson, South Carolina to McNeil and Rosa (Hunter) Grier, the fourth of nine children. Eleanor graduated from Reed St. High School in 1948. She married her husband, Paul McIntosh, Sr., in January 1950 and they relocated to Sandusky, OH in 1951. She was employed at Philco Co. from 1957 -1965, and later with the former Foster Grant (Sandusky Plastics) until her retirement. She then began working for CAC Headstart as a bus monitor.
Eleanor leaves to mourn her passing, husband, Paul McIntosh, Sr.; children, Paul McIntosh, Jr., Donna (Robert) Sherman, and Delbert McIntosh; grandchildren, Ronna (Deon) Gray, Jamillah Sherman, LaTorya Fiske, Janelle Sherman, Jalissa Sherman; great-grandchildren, Malia Farrell, Darien Gray, and Deon Grey, Jr.; sisters, Lonnie Mae Allgood, Mabel Cobb, and Corrine Grier; brother, Curtis Grier; close nephew, Kenneth Gambrell; and cousins, nieces, nephews, godchildren, and a host of dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Debra, in infancy; sisters, Annie L. Gambrell and Hazel Robinson; brothers, A.J. Grier and James Grier. Friends may call on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 from 10 AM until time of services at 12 Noon in St. Stephens A.M.E. Church, 312 Neil St., Sandusky. Rev. Barbara Huston will officiate.
