Gary Eugene Jenkins, age 44, of Norwalk, died unexpectedly late Saturday, December 14, 2013 after injuries sustained in a snowmobile accident.
He was born April 5, 1969 in Sandusky, OH and worked at Republic Waste Services, where he was known as "Junk Man Jenkins". He enjoyed baseball, Harley Davidson motorcycles, all children and especially loved his snow mobiles. He also lived by "learn to live again" and "live, love and laugh". He will be missed by all of his family and friends.
He is survived by his son, Alec Jenkins; mother, Myra (Parker) Jenkins of Norwalk; sisters, Susan Riedy of Sandusky, Rebecca (Martin Castillo) Harrod of Norwalk, Sandra Moman of Norwalk and Beth (Terry) Meyers of Norwalk; nieces and nephews, Rachel (Todd) Koch of Bellevue, Tiffany Zimmerman of Sandusky, Chad (Sarah) Stephans of Norwalk, Jason (Chanell) Jenkins of Alaska, Ashley Alexander of Norwalk, TJ and Katie Meyers of Norwalk; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard E. Jenkins in 2012 and a nephew, Anthony J. Marino in 1994.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10:30 A.M. in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
