Rema Nell (Davis) Terrell, 87, residing in Michigan and formerly of Sandusky, was called to her heavenly home on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 in the Manor of Wayne Nursing Home in Wayne, Michigan.
She was born in Anniston, Alabama on Sept. 22, 1926 to the union of Louis and Lillian (Hamilton) Davis, and was the youngest of 15 children.
Rema found Christ at an early age and was baptized at Friendship Baptist Church in Anniston.
On January 3, 1946, she married Louis Terrell. Ten children were born of this union: Ronald Dean (Luvada), Sandra Faye, Gordon Louis, Gwendolyn Delores, Lawrence Parnall, Theresa Ann, Darryl Shurrod, Annise LaFrance, and Don Edward.
In 1953, Rema and Louis relocated to Sandusky. She was gainfully employed at the Ohio Veterans Home and Vulcan Materials. Rema joined Second Baptist Church and remained a faithful member until relocating to Detroit. She always considered Second Baptist her "home church," and wanted her final services to be held there.
Rema had a passion for puzzles of any kind. "Piecing" puzzles and completing Word Finds were sources of great pleasure for her.
In addition to her children, she leaves to cherish her memory a nephew, Harold Polk (Joan), who was like a brother to her; nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends will also lovingly remember their grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Pamela Laverne; and her 14 siblings.
Friends may call on Friday, December 20, 2013 from 6-8 P.M. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Friends may also call on Saturday from 9:30 A.M. until time of funeral services at 10 A.M. in Second Baptist Church, 315 Decatur St., Sandusky. Rev. Reginald Taylor will officiate. Entombment will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
