Heinz Jürgen Metz, 56, Sandusky, died on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 in Concord Care & Rehabilitation Center, Sandusky, after a lengthy illness.
He was born on January 21, 1955 in Darmstadt, Germany. He was a former owner of the "Mom & Pop's Drive Inn" restaurant in Plymouth, and was employed at Routh Packing. Jürgen loved sailing from Battery Park Marina, hosting classic car shows at his restaurant, and he loved to cook.
He is survived by his loving sons, Nicholas Metz and Caleb Metz, both of Plymouth, OH; his former wife, Jeanne Metz, Plymouth, with whom he shared a special friendship; stepfather, Howard Bissell, Florida; and stepbrothers, Hayward Bissell, and Mark Bissell, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Magdalena Metz; and his stepbrother, Howard Bissell.
At his request, cremation will take place at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Memorial contributions may be made to his family. Condolences may be shared at www.toftfh.com.
