Donald R. Peace Sr., 79, residing in Huron, passed away early Monday morning, December 16, 2013 at Admiral's Pointe Nursing & Rehabilitation Center after a lengthy illness surrounded by his family.
Donald was born on July 26, 1934 in Harlan Co, Kentucky to the late Willard and Doris Peace.
Donald retired from St. Mary's Hospital in Enid, Oklahoma from the telecommunications department. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, bowling, and collecting just about anything. He was an avid Cleveland Indians fan and pet lover. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Donald is survived by his children, Donald R. (LeeAnne) Peace Jr. and Shari Peace both of Sandusky; grandchildren, Misti Yoakum, Jamie and Sean Bishop, BreeAnna Andrews and Zachary VanZandt; eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, Donald is preceded in death by his wife Christel (Lemley) and daughter, Donna Pavia.
Friends may call on Friday, December 20, 2013 from 10:00 am up until the time of memorial services at 11:00 am at Groff Funeral Homes Huron Chapel 2602 E. Bogart Rd Huron, Ohio, with Pastor John Adams of the New Life Church presiding. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
