Arden J. Miller, 90. of Monroeville, passed away Saturday, December 21, 2013 at his residence.
He was born December 22, 1922 in Bismarck, Ohio.
Arden was a machinist mate third class on the USS Rombach during WW II. He was employed at the former New Departure - Hyatt, Division of General Motors until his retirement. Arden was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Monroeville.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, the former Mildred "Millie" Schaffer, five children: Peggy (Jerry) Stockmaster of Bellevue, Denny (Ema) Miller, Tom (Pat) Miller, both of Monroeville, Steve (Kathy) Miller of Westerville, Ohio, Dick (Jacki) Miller of Dover, Arkansas, fourteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, six siblings; Wilma Bednarz, Bernie Daniel, Harriet (Howard) Hahler, Harold (Barbara) Miller, Dorothy (Paul) Schaffer, Norma (Eldon) Young, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents: John & Veronica (Leis) Miller, one sister: Marcella Geiger, two brothers: Rev. E. J. Miller and John Miller.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, December 24, 2013 in the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 66 Chapel Street, Monroeville. The Rev. William Pifher will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Monroeville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Stein Hospice Service, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, Ohio 44870 to or St. Joseph School Endowment Fund, 79 Chapel Street, Monroeville, Ohio 44847.
