Paula J. (Burkhalter) Flores, 74, residing in Sandusky, passed away peacefully, Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Stein Hospice Care Center following a courageous battle with cancer.
Paula was born on February 8, 1939 in Willard, Ohio to the late Paul and Gertrude (Smith) Burkhalter.
As a home maker, Paula was devoted in entertaining family and friends. She also enjoyed going to auctions, word searches, ceramics and driving around in her mustangs. Paula's love of animals showed in her care of her beloved cat, Mickey and dog, Hoss.
Paula is survived by her husband, Tomas Y. Flores, Jr., whom she married on April 13, 1985. She is also survived by her daughter, Kathy (Ron) Kaman of Sandusky; two sons, Robert (Susan) Wright of Huron and Randy (Jena) Wright of Oak Harbor; two grandsons; Shawn Kaman and Eric (Christine) Kaman; step-son, Jerry Flores; three step-daughters, Leticia (John) Borgen, Marivel Flores and Maria Mohebi; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; a special cousin, Cindy Scott, along with many other loving cousins and friends.
Friends may call on Thursday, December 26, 2013 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 27, 2013 10:00 am at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory with burial to follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven, Ohio. Reverend Jane-Anne Clarke, a Chaplain with Stein Hospice Services, will be presiding.
