Ruth H. Gfell, 90, of Norwalk, Ohio, died Tuesday, December 24, 2013 in Gaymont Nursing Center.
She was born May 17, 1923 in Norwalk, Ohio to the late William and Irene J. (Gockstetter) Gfell and was a lifelong area resident.
Ruth was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Norwalk, Ohio. She attended St. Mary Elementary School and graduated from Norwalk High School in 1941. Ruth was a former employee of Columbia Gas of Ohio, Durkee Famous Foods, and Fanny Farmer Candy Company. She enjoyed drawing, gardening, and especially enjoyed caring for animals, especially her house cats.
Ruth is survived by several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her twin brother, Joseph, in infancy, and by her brother and best friend, James W. Gfell in 2011.
There will be no calling hours. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary Catholic Church, 38 West League Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Rev. Anthony Recker will officiate. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery.
