Ronald Edward Zuber, age 73, 4210 Woodridge Drive, Sandusky, passed away Monday evening, December 23, 2013 at home with his family, after a lengthy battle with prostate cancer.
Ronald was born August 14, 1940 in Sandusky, Ohio to the late Edward C. and Eloise R. (Biehl) Zuber.
He attended St. Mary's grade and high schools, graduating in 1958. After serving in the United States Navy, he worked for N.A.S.A. and was the Plum Brook station's first apprentice. He was also employed by New Departure Hyatt as an electrician and maintenance supervisor, retiring in May of 1992.
Ronald was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus council 546, Commodore Denig post of the American Legion, the Sandusky Yacht Club, Order of Eagles aerie 2875, and a life member of the Amvets post 17.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra (Trautman) Billetter-Zuber; daughter, Dawn (Gil Pomeranz) of Canton, Michigan; son, Scott (Denise Webster-Zuber)) of Los Angeles, California; granddaughters, Desiree, Kaitlin, and Emily Webster-Zuber also of Los Angeles; a stepdaughter, Lisa Astalos of Little Elm, Texas; two step-grandsons, Nicholas and Kobi of Little Elm; one brother, James (Susan) of Concord, Ohio; two sisters, Caren (Philip) Incorvia of Castalia and Mary Lou (Michael) Roth of Huron, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward in 1975, and mother, Eloise (Biehl) in 2003; his brother, Ned in 1983; and his grandparents.
Friends may call on Sunday, December 29, 2013 from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Prayer services will be conducted on Monday, December 30, 2013 at 9:30 am in the funeral home with a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky, with the Father Eric Mueller officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
