Timothy James Barrett, 53, of Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 in his home.
He was born on March 24, 1960 in Sandusky to the late Hezz and Hazel (Hensley) Barrett.
He graduated from Sandusky High School in 1979, and was a truck driver for over 20 years. Timothy was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, and was fiercely proud of being in this elite fraternity. He was a generous man who would help anyone out. He loved the quiet life, and enjoyed watching movies. Most of all, he loved being with his friends and family.
Timothy is survived by his son, Nicholas James Barrett, of Sandusky; siblings, Barbara Culver, of Norwalk, "Donnie" (Paul) Ertle and Michael Barrett, both of Sandusky; and Darlene (Harvey) Miller, of Norwalk; sister-in-law, Diane Barrett; former wife, Kellie Barrett; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Janet Richardson and Sandy Reiger.
Friends may call on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 from 9-11 A.M. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will begin at 11 A.M., and the Marines Corps Forever Honor and Color Guard will provide military honors to close. Private burial will follow in Perkins Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in Timothy's name to the family, in care of the funeral home.
