Friends may call today (Tuesday) from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at the Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, 109 Monroe Street, Monroeville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday in the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 66 Chapel Street, Monroeville.
Juanita "Winnie" M. Pittenger, age 87, of Monroeville, died Thursday, January 02, 2014 at Fisher-Titus Medical Center in Norwalk.
She was born June 19, 1926 in Bellevue and was a graduate of Bellevue High School.
In her early years she worked at Kroger's Grocery in Bellevue and Terry's Tavern in Monroeville. She was married, raised her six children and was a caretaker for her oldest daughter for 25 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monroeville and enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, N. Frank (Ann) Pittenger of Monroeville, Carolyn (Bill) Diringer of Monroeville, Steve (Donna) Pittenger of Norwalk, Lisa Barclay of Aliquippa, PA, and Kim (Robert) Shupe of Collins; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers, Wilfrid "Bud" (Dorothy) Rospert of Huron and George (Barb) Rospert of Woodville; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Neal Pittenger in 1984; daughter, Sue Hoyt in 1999; parents, John F. and Rose (Sturm) Rospert; and sister, Thelma Jacobs.
Friends may call on Monday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the Pfeil Funeral Home, 109 Monroe Street, Monroeville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 10:30 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 66 Chapel Street, Monroeville. The Rev. William Pifher, Pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
