Bobby A. Freeman passed away peacefully at Gaymont Nursing Center on December 20, 2013 surrounded by his family and friends.
He was born on August 5, 1937 in Obion County, Tennessee, to McKellar K. and Annie Brown (nee Puckett) Freeman.
He grew up in Memphis, Tennessee, and graduated from Treadwell High School in 1955. After graduation he joined the United States Marine Corp and served three years attaining the rank of sergeant. He served aboard the USS Lake Chaplain and made a tour around the Mediterranean Sea. After discharge, in 1958, he joined his parents and sister, Patricia Masten, in Vermilion, Ohio. He then went to work at the Lorain Ford Assembly plant in October 1958, and retired in January of 1989. He met his future wife, Mildred Ann Stump, while living in Vermilion, and they were married on March 20, 1959. They lived together for 50 years until Mildred's illness separated them. Mildred passed away on November 17, 2012. Together they have 3 loving children, Michael (Dawn) Freeman of Norwalk, Ohio, Bobbie (Curtis) Cousineau of Rocky River, Ohio, and Julie (Raymond) Gualtier of Brook Park, Ohio. They were blessed with 8 wonderful grandchildren.
Bobby is survived by his sister, Patricia Masten of Vermilion and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In his spare time Bobby enjoyed working with his friends, in the construction trade, building houses.
There will be no visitation. Memorial services for Bobby and Mildred will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in Norwalk First United Methodist Church, 60 West Main St., Norwalk, Ohio. Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio is in charge of arrangements.
