Herman M. Kwait, 85, of Sandusky, passed away early Monday morning, January 13, 2014 in Parkvue Healthcare Center.
Herman was born January 26, 1928, in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Abe and Rose (Lockhart) Kwait.
He was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and worked for Sears until his retirement in 1988. He has been a resident of Sandusky for the past three years.
Herman is survived by his son, Howard (Marsha) Kwait of Canonsburg, PA; daughter, Andrea (Dr. Joseph) Scheingross of Sandusky; grandchildren, Jason Lockhart of Los Angeles, CA, Jaime (Brad) Borders of North Canton, OH, Brittany Kwait of Chicago, IL, and Derek Kwait of New York City, NY; great-grandson, Gavin Borders of North Canton, OH, and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis (Rubin) in 2010 and three brothers, Joshua, Joseph and Norman.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Groff Funeral Homes and Crematory 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, Ohio. Interment will be in Pittsburgh, PA.
