Beatrice Mae "Sis" Riedy, 80, residing in Sandusky, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Providence Care Centers.
Beatrice was born on January 23, 1933 in Sandusky, OH to the late Victor and Esther (Mantey) Riedy. She was raised in Sandusky, but spent most of her adult life in the Toledo/Sylvania area, moving back to Sandusky in 2004.
Beatrice was a 1951 graduate of St. Mary's High School and received her Associate of Applied Science degree in 1990 from Lourdes College where she majored in Business Administration. She was employed for many years by AP Exhaust Technologies in Toledo as an Administration Assistant. Beatrice was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, and a member of Beta Sigma Phi International Sorority. She was an avid reader; loved music, square dancing, scrap-booking and playing the piano. She also enjoyed traveling, hosting parties and spending time with family and friends.
Beatrice is survived by her sister, Carol (Riedy) Marksbury of Monroeville, and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Beatrice is preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Agnes (Riedy) Keegan and Sr. Mary Carolanne S.N.D. (Ursula Riedy); and four brothers, Cyril, Kenneth, Richard and Gerald Riedy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky with Fr. Joe Steinbauer presiding. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
