Elizabeth J. "Betty" Myers, 82, of Norwalk, Ohio, died Saturday, January 18, 2014 in Fisher-Titus Medical Center.
She was born August 22, 1931 in Monroeville, Ohio to the late Harlan and Ruth Esther (Rossman ) Stang and was a lifelong area resident.
Betty was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she volunteered for Bingo, preparing food for funeral luncheons, baked pies for the Helping Hands ministry, and worked at the Parish Festival. She was a former employee of Norwalk Truck Lines, Fisher's Meat Market, and Gardner's Cardinal Market. Betty enjoyed sewing, crocheting, baking, gardening and canning, cake decorating, and playing cards.
She is survived by her children, Judy and Dave Wunderley of White House, Ohio, Jeff and Barb Myers of Norwalk, Ohio, Betsy and Ron Smith of Greenville, Ohio, Mike Myers of Norwalk, Ohio, Tony and Cyndi Myers of Berlin Heights, Ohio, Jackie and Jerry Ryan of Norwalk, Ohio, and Gwen and Kevin Schreiner of Monroeville, Ohio, 20 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren with two new babies arriving in June. Betty is also survived by her siblings, William and Felicia Stang of Monroeville, Ohio, Norbert and Grace Stang of Monroeville, Ohio, Frederick and Maryellen Stang of Monroeville, Ohio, Marianne and George Tullos of Galatin, Tennessee, and Ronald Stang of Monroeville, Ohio, by her sisters in law, Elizabeth Stang of Norwalk, Ohio and Lois Stang of Monroeville, Ohio, many nieces and nephews, and her special friend, Joanne Miller of Norwalk, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond C. Myers Jr., in 2010, by her great grandsons, Tyller Myers and Will Rismiller, by her brothers Kenneth and Charles Stang, and by her sister, Susan Johnson.
Friends may call on Thursday, January 23, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 24, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 66 Chapel Street, Monroeville, Ohio. Rev. William Pifher will officiate. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
