Diana J. Karns, 67, of Sandusky, passed away late Monday evening, January 27, 2014 at her residence, following a lengthy illness.
She was born November 1, 1946 in Sandusky, Ohio, to the late Arvel D. and Pauline A. (Bahnsen) Hill.
Diana was a 1964 graduate of Sandusky High School, and was employed as a cafeteria worker for the Sandusky School Systems, where she retired after 29 years. She was the treasurer for Sandusky non-teachers employees union, and a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Sandusky. She enjoyed camping, the Cleveland Indians, needlepoint, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Diana is survived by her loving Husband of 49 years, Barry Karns; her daughter, Lisa (Paul) Mize of Huron; three grandchildren, Morgan, Madison, and Tanner Mize; Son-in-Law, Dan Kautz; sister, Arlene (Rick) Wahl; two brothers, Daniel, and William Hill; several nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Including her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Laura Kautz; and her two siblings, Pamela Hill- Clark, and James Hill.
Friends may call, Saturday, February 1, 2014 from 10:30 AM until the time of the Memorial service at 11:30 AM at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, Ohio 44870.
