Charlie Nell Wakefield, 91, Sandusky, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, February 1, 2014, in The Meadows at Osborn Park.
She was born on January 4, 1922 in Chattanooga, TN.
Nell was a member of Second Baptist Church, and loved to sing in the choir.
She leaves to cherish her memory, sister, Gladys Alexander Goodwin, Spring Valley, CA; devoted cousin, Vivian McMichael, Shaker Heights, OH; adopted daughter, Elvira Jackson, Atlanta, GA; adopted granddaughter, Phelica Jackson, Atlanta, GA; adopted great-grandchildren, Taevin Odums and Tariyah Odums; a niece' four nephews; and a host of other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Wakefield; parents, Charlie and India (Standard) Claridy; and a brother, Henry Claridy.
Friends may call on Saturday, February 8, 2014, from 11 A.M. until time of funeral services at 12 P.M. Noon in Second Baptist Church, 315 Decatur St., Sandusky. Rev. Reginald Taylor will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
