Rajan Nainee, 62, of Huron died suddenly February 2, 2014 while visiting his family in his home town in India.
He was born April 22, 1951 in Secunderabad, India to the late Palavathi (mother) and Ram Nainee (Father).
Rajan graduated from Osnania University of Engineering, India and enjoyed a career in the field of mechanical engineering. He was a member of the Chapel in Sandusky, a board member for HBI ministries and a member of the Sandusky Bonsai club. Rajan was passionate about many things but above all his wife, children and his grandsons who were the love of his life.
His love for Christ and his missionary work in India were center of his life. He will be most remembered not only for his humor, but for his incredible gift of missionary work and his love and compassion that he had for even those he did not know. His smile was the kind of smile that lit up a room, the type of smile that you simply knew was real. Along with gardening and bonsai's those who know him best know how he loved music and dancing even while cutting the grass. Now, he is dancing in heaven with those who have gone before him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 12 years, Maria Berardi-Nainee; three daughters: Anita (Scott) Doseck of Findley, Ohio, Neesha Nainee of Huron, Rachel K (Tom) Velishek of Vermillion; two sons: Kevin W. Leber of Sandusky, Daniel A. (Renee) Leber of Huron; grandsons (known as his boys): Ryan and Collin Leber, Vance Velishek, Jameson Leber and his new grandson to be born in March who he was so excited to meet; many members of his family in India including his sister, sister-in-law, and his niece and nephew to whom he was very close.
He also survived by many other nieces, nephews and cousins who were special to him, including a very special cousin Richard Nainee whom he considered his brother. In addition Raj left behind several sisters and brother-in-laws, and many nieces and nephews here in the states.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, two brothers and his very special Dog Tiger who was by his side for 15 years on earth and will be by his side forever in Heaven.
Friends and family may call Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at 3:00 PM until the time of the funeral services which starts promptly at 7 PM at The Chapel, 4444 Galloway Road Sandusky, Ohio. The Rev. and Special Friend Bill Schroeder will officiate along with pastor and friend Jay Halley. The Groff Funeral Homes and Crematory is assisting the family with local arrangements.
