He was known for his generous nature often treating fellow nursing home patients to pizza and Pepsi, sandwiches from McDonald's, coupons he felt they could use. He confirmed his generous nature at the end of his life by being an Organ Donor.
Dick had a great love for his family who he kept in touch on a regular basis via Google Voice, Skype, emails and his famous letters.
