Lee I. Schnell residing in Norwalk, passed away early Sunday morning, February 23, 2014 at his residence after a lengthy illness.
Lee was born on June 17, 1936 in Sandusky, OH to the late Irvin and Linda (Kienzle) Schnell.
Lee graduated from Milan High School in 1954. He worked at Janesville Cotton for 13 years before retiring from Tenneco in 2002 after 35 years of service. Lee was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Norwalk Eagles, and Gold Wings Association. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on cars, walking at the Norwalk Reservoir, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Lee is survived by three sons, Richard (Dawna) and William Schnell of Norwalk, and Lee Eric (Debbie) Schnell of Monroeville; two daughters; Sandra (Jamie) Coffman and Margaret Schnell, both of Norwalk; special friends, Patricia and Mike Cambra of Norwalk; three brothers, James (Yolanda) Schnell of Milan, and Gary and Robert (Gaylene) Schnell, both of Norwalk; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Friends may call on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and from 5:00 until the time of funeral services at 7:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1 South Main Street, Milan, OH. Pastor Wendy Schindler-Chasney will be presiding. At a later date, burial will take place in St. John's UCC Cemetery, Milan, OH.
