Dorothy J. Meade, 83, of Sandusky and formerly of Castalia went home to be with the Lord on Sunday afternoon, March 9, 2014 at her residence following a lengthy illness.
She was born October 30, 1930 in Sandusky and was a 1950 graduate of Sandusky High School.
Dorothy had worked for the Periodical Publishers and the Arthur Corporation. She married her husband, Nelson "Gwen" Meade on August 9, 1951 by Pastor William Fusco. She was a life long member of Calvary Baptist Church, Sandusky and a former member of the Morning Glory Bowling League.
She is survived by her husband of 62 1/2 years Nelson "Gwen" Meade, five children; Ruth (Thomas) Haley of Sandusky, David (Laura) Meade of New Franklin, Ohio, Kenneth (Sharon) Meade of Stratford, CT, Susan E. Meade of Sandusky and Timothy (Tammy Hephner) Meade of Sandusky, nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren, one sister; Rhoda (Ernest) Friend of Castalia, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Wilbur and Edith (Holmes) Robison, two infant sons; Robert "Bobby" and Mark Meade, two sisters; Betty J. Robison and Vivian Butler.

Calling hours are now 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, March 13, 2014 at the Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, and on Friday, March 14, 2014 from 9:30 AM until time of funeral service at 10:30 AM at the Calvary Baptist Church, 1810 E. Perkins Avenue, Sandusky, Ohio. The Rev. David L. Hixson will officiate. Burial will be in the Castalia Cemetery.
