Dr. Donald C. King, 84, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away, Monday, March 10, 2014 in his home.

He was born March 30, 1929 in Rimersburg, Pennsylvania to the late Charles D. and Dorothy F. (Hawk) King.

Dr. King graduated from Punxsutawney High School in 1946 and graduated Pre-Med from Washington & Jefferson College in Washington, Pa. in 1950. He served as a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Dr. King graduated from Des Moines University Osteopathic Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa in 1958 and was named to Psi Sigma Alpha National Scholastic Honor Society. He began his practice in Norwalk, Ohio in 1959. Dr. King was certified in Family Practice in 1970. He was past Chief of Staff, Chairman, and member of the Board of Trustees of the former Sandusky Memorial Hospital in Sandusky, Ohio. Dr. King was also past Chief of Staff, Chairman and member of the Board of Trustees of Fisher Titus Medical Center, Norwalk, Ohio. He retired from practice in 1993 after 44 years of service, and retired from Fisher Titus Medical Center after 31 years and was granted Emeritus Status. Dr. King was a life member of the American Osteopathic Association, the Ohio Osteopathic Association, and the 5th District Academy of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians.

He is survived by his daughter and son in law, Deborah and Gary Shoop of Collins, Ohio, by his grandchildren, Michelle L. Shoop and Gregory D. Shoop, and by his great granddaughter, Angela Miller.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille E. King, and by his son, Donald C. King, Jr. There will be no calling hours. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Paul Catholic Church, (Social Hall on Milan Avenue). Msgr. Kenneth Morman will officiate.
