Nancy M. Carr, 76, residing in Bay View Village, passed away early Sunday morning, March 16, 2014 at Stein Hospice Care Center after a lengthy illness.
Nancy was born on August 10, 1937 in Sandusky, Ohio to the late Harold G. and Marjorie (Brant) Schenk.
Nancy graduated from Sandusky High School in 1957. She retired from Ford Motor Company in 1997 after 30 years of service. Nancy enjoyed the beach, going out to restaurants, watching movies, and spending time with her family.
Nancy is survived by her children, Rick A. (Kellie) Frederick of Milan, Randy L. (Teresa) Frederick of Navarre, FL, Bruce W. (Jil) Carr of Sandusky and Jennifer Carr of Toledo; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; five sisters, Betty Marvicsin, Mary Giedeman, Janet (Charles) Hunter, Peggy (Bill) Wick and Norma (Paul) Miller; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Nancy is preceded in death by her husband in 2001, John N. Carr; brother, Harold G. Schenk Jr. and sister, Phyllis Meeker.
At Nancy's request, there will be no funeral services. An informal celebration of Nancy's life will be held Friday, March 21, 2014 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at Chet & Matt's Pizza, in the back room, 1013 E Strub Rd, Sandusky, Ohio 44870. Groff Funeral Homes and Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
