Marie Ann (Nowak) Van Dresser, 90, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away peacefully, under the care of her family, Sunday, March 23, 2014 in her home.
She was born November 22, 1923 in Detroit, Michigan to the late William T. and Clara "Dutch" (Wyslic) Nowak and lived in Norwalk, Ohio since 1969.
Marie was an active supporter, and devoted member, of St. Paul Catholic Church, Norwalk, Ohio. She enjoyed horseback riding, antiquing, crafts, and cheering on her grandkids at St Paul, Arlington, Western Reserve, and Edison High Schools.
Marie is survived by her children, Frank W. (Becky) Van Dresser of New London, Ohio; Susan Van Dresser of Norwalk, Ohio; Kathleen (Tom) Taylor of Huron, Ohio; and Barbara (David) Beach of Findlay, Ohio. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Lynn Taylor (Christy), Val Miller (Dwight), Melissa Grady (Mark), Megan Pfleiderer (Aaron), Frank W. Van Dresser, Jr. (Jill), Daniel Beach (April), Nick Van Dresser (Olivia), and Laura Barlekamp (Alex), and by 11 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, of 59 years, Duane L. Van Dresser in 2005, whom she married November 27, 1946 in Detroit, Michigan. Marie is also preceded by her brothers, Chester and William (Bud) Nowak, and by her sisters, Helen (Nowak) Mack, and Vi Nowak.
Friends may call on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Friends may also call on Thursday, March 27, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Paul Catholic Church Social Hall, Milan Avenue, Norwalk, Ohio. Msgr. Kenneth Morman, Pastor of St. Paul Catholic Church will officiate. Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery.
