Martin C. Myers, 95, of Norwalk, died Friday evening, March 28, 2014, in Fisher Titus Medical Center, Norwalk, Ohio.
He was born October 3, 1918 in Bismark, Ohio, to the late Aloys A. and Anna C. (Ringlein) Myers, and was a lifelong area resident.
Martin was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Norwalk, Ohio, Knights of Columbus #626, and the Federal Employee Retirees Association of Huron County. He was a former grain and dairy farmer, and retired in 1980 from the Huron County Soil and Water Conservation Service. He enjoyed traveling, gardening, hunting, fishing, enjoyed being outdoors, and especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Martin is survived by his wife of 66 years, Jean C. (Mockler) Myers, of Norwalk, Ohio, by his daughters, Joan Myers, of Huron, Ohio, Peg (Rand) Lindsay of Cincinnati, Ohio, Betty (Tim) Kloppenborg of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Mary Kaye (Bill) Gulasey of Little Rock, Arkansas, by his foster son, Chris (Julie) Maier of Toledo, Ohio, 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Martin was preceded in death by 6 brothers, and 3 sisters.
Friends may call on Monday, March 31, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main St., Norwalk, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Paul Catholic Church Social Hall, Milan Avenue, Norwalk, Ohio. Msgr. Kenneth Morman will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery.
