Arthur Wilbur Dickman, age 86, of Norwalk, died Monday, April 14, 2014 at Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky.
He was born December 8, 1927 in Vickery, OH to the late Chester H. and Carrie R. (Whitmore) Dickman.
He served in the US Air Corps during WWII. He worked at Ford Motor in Sandusky for 23 years, retiring in 1990. He enjoyed collecting miniature scale model cars and trucks, and making wooden holiday decorations. He was very proud of his many flower beds and gardens.
He is survived by his daughter, Mary (Stephen) Mencer of Cambridge, OH; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Dickman of Milan; sisters-in-law, Margaret Kinnard of Milan and Shirley Burris of Monroeville; grandchildren, Angie (Matt) Vogus of Milan, Andrew (Miranda) Mencer of Steubenville and April Ball of CA; and six great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and many special friends.
He was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Mary Dickman,in 1975 and 2nd wife, Elsie Dickman in 1999; and sons, Mark in 2009 and Arthur in 2013; siblings, John and Bettye.
Friends may call on Friday from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. A military graveside service will follow at 1:30 P.M. at Milan Cemetery.
