Philip Meacham, 79, Bellevue, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at Stein Hospice, Sandusky, OH.
He was born on October 11, 1934, the son of Marion E. and Marguerite (Summers) Meacham.
Phil was a Sargent with the Bellevue Police Department, retiring in 1986 and was a Bailiff for the Bellevue Municipal Court retiring from this in 2012. He was a US Army Veteran; 1954 graduate of BSHS; member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Bellevue; NRA; F.O.P. National; Eagles #490; Bellevue Local F.O.P. #53; VFW and the American Legion. Phil loved God, family, community and Army service.
Phil is survived by his wife, Loretta (McConnell) whom he married on July 17, 1955 in St. John's Lutheran Church, Bellevue; daughter, Meredeth (Danny Jackson) Ott, Bellevue; grandchildren, Matthew, Isaiah, Jeremiah and Autumn Meacham, Ethan and Grace Ott and Logan Jackson and six great-grandchildren; brother, David F. (Dorothy Bowes) Meacham, Lake Charles, LA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Philip Martin "Marty" Meacham; grandson, Zechriah Meacham; sister, Susanne Meacham and brother, J. Robert Meacham.
Friends will be received on Friday, May 2, 2014 from 2-8 PM at the Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue, OH. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 3, 2014, 11:00 am at St. John's Lutheran Church, 209 Southwest Street, Bellevue, OH with Reverend Julie Lejman-Guy officiating.
