Dorothy M. Traina, 84 of Sandusky, died Friday morning, May 2, 2014, in Firelands Regional Medical Center.
She was born on January 30, 1930 in New York City, the youngest child of Thomas & Edna (Whitten) Scanlon.
Dorothy was a resident of Vermilion for more than 38 years, before moving to Sandusky in 2008.
She is survived by her husband Vincent Peter Traina to whom she was married for almost 62 years; children, Maria (Werner) Stoller, Zurich, Switzerland, Thomas (Patty) Traina, Odessa, FL, Patricia (Henry) Kishman, Vermilion, OH, Veronica (Steve) Hawk, San Antonio, TX, Joseph (Christine) Traina, Minerva, OH, Peter Traina, North Carolina, Dorothy (Peter) Galuppi, Hawthorne Woods, IL, Vincent Patrick (Cindy) Traina, Concord, OH, Christopher (Cheryl) Traina, Chardon, OH, and Alison (Pete) Yonkers, Lakewood, OH; twenty eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Veronica Byers and Patricia Durkin; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Edna; and brother, Herb.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 A.M. Monday, May 5, 2014, in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Rev. Eric Mueller will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
