Beverly A. (Filsinger) Smith, 72, residing in Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly, early Tuesday morning, April 29, 2014 at Firelands Regional Medical Center.
Beverly was born on September 10, 1941 in Bellevue, Ohio to the late William and Gladys (Wing) Filsinger.
Beverly graduated from Thompson High School. She was employed as a bartender for many years at Youngs Tavern. She was a member of the Milan Friends Church, a past president and active member in the Milan Friend Lady Missionary Groups; she volunteered with the local food pantry and has made many afghans for the Abigail Pregnancy Center, in Norwalk. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Beverly is survived by her daughter, Michelle Caputo of Sandusky; her grandson, Joseph Walsh; great-grandchildren, Gauge and Grace Walsh; brother, Edmund (Gwen) Filsinger; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Beverly is preceded in death by her grandson, Thomas Walsh, and brother, David Filsinger.
Friends may call Monday, May 5, 2014 from 4:00 PM until the time of the funeral service at 5:00 PM at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky.
