Larry E. Camp, Sr.

Larry E. Camp, Sr., 72, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family early Monday morning, May 12, 2014 after a brief illness.

In life, all things Larry did were with great passion. Whether it was coaching his children's baseball or softball teams, he was always there with ready advice and a helping hand. This even extended through the generations to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren as they played baseball in various area leagues. He never missed a game!

He was an avid race car fan, especially when it came to drag racing and sprint car racing. He loved truck and tractor pulls. He was very proud of his 1962 Ford F-100 green pickup truck, which he loved to take downtown and to other car shows in the area.

He loved fishing with his good buddy, Uncle Don, and on many occasions he took his grandchildren. These are memories they will cherish forever.

Larry worked his entire adult life for JH Routh Packing Company as a Truck Driver, and we will never forget his yellow Freightliner. He always kept a picture of it nearby, as it was his pride and joy. One could say that Routh never had a prouder driver than our father.

Larry is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Diane (Mineo) Camp; his children, Kimberley Morris, Kristine Camp, Karla (Vincent) Esposito, Larry (Michele) Camp, Jr., all of Sandusky, and Kelley Spring, of Ashland, Ohio; mother, Agnes Camp; 10 grandchildren, Mia (Tommy) Mock, Max Morris, Jaxon and Dakota (Kendra) Dever, Tyler (Jennah) Esposito, Alexa (Tyler) Richardson, Hayley, Gunnar, Thorinn, and Lachlann Camp; nine great-grandchildren, Brycen Aceto, Brooklyn, Kayden, and Kylan Mock, Braxton Heil, Donovan Dever, Avery Esposito, and Kamden and Hadley Richardson; brothers, Jim (Diane) Camp, Terry (Sue) Camp, and Jerry Camp; and sister, Marlene (Mike) DeCaro. In addition to his family, he is also survived by his loving dog and constant companion, Winston.

He was preceded in death by his father, W. Wilson Camp; and brother, Nelson Camp.

At Larry's request, cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at a later date in the Toft Event Room.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Larry's name to Stein Hospice Service, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870. Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, is handling arrangements. Condolences and words of sympathy may be made to the family by visiting www.toftfh.com.
