Irene Margaret Heidl, 90, of Sandusky, passed away early Sunday morning, May 18, 2014 at The Commons of Providence, following a lengthy illness.
She was born May 28, 1923 in Fort Madison, IA to the late Otto and Genvieve (Nutzki) Baaske.
Irene is survived by her three sons, Danny (Yvonne), James (Linda), and Steven (Peggy) Heidl; six grandchildren, Monica (Gary) Duggan, Nichole Heidl, Drew (Kristi) Heidl, C.J. Osher, Jason Heidl, and Michael (Mary Ellen) Heidl; six great-grandchildren, Erin Lytal, Madelin, Brandi, and Tristan Heidl, Haley and Hannah Osher; many nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Including her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, J. Karl Heidl May 11, 1982; her great-granddaughter, Sophia Ekstrom; two sisters, Shirley Deme and Gen Louise Schlottag.
Friends may call Wednesday, May 21, 2014 from 1pm until the time of the funeral service at 2pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, Ohio 44870. Burial will be held in Perkins Cemetery.
