Dorothy M. Doughty, 80, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Tuesday afternoon, May 20, 2014 in Gaymont Nursing Center.

She was born March 3, 1934 in Peru Twp., Huron County, Ohio, to the late Herbert S. and Alma (Stein) Stang and was a lifelong area resident.

Dorothy was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and the Monroeville Senior Center. She had worked for Maple City Rubber, Gardner's Grocery Deli, and had helped her daughter at the Star View Drive In. She enjoyed crocheting, baking, cooking, camping, canning and gardening, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her son and daughter in law, James R. (Cheryl) Doughty, of Monroeville, Ohio, by her granddaughters, Olivia Doughty and Megan Doughty.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert G. Doughty in 2001, by her daughter, Janet Doughty in 2011, by her brother, Bob Stang, and by her sisters, Gildes Witter, Margaret Donnamiller, and Marjorie Schafer.

Friends may call on Friday, May 23, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main St., Norwalk, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 66 Chapel St., Monroeville, Ohio. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery.
