Alton L. "Bud" Felske

Alton L. "Bud" Felske, 83, formerly of Castalia passed away Saturday morning, June 14, 2014 in the Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky following a brief illness.

He was born April 22, 1931 in Castalia where he had resided his entire life.

For the past three years he has been a resident at the Ohio Veterans Home. Bud was a 1949 graduate of Margaretta High School and had served in the U.S. Navy from 1951-1955. He retired from the Ford Motor Company in 1994 after 36 years of service. Through the years he had served the Village of Castalia as a Councilman and Margaretta Township as a volunteer fireman and a Township Trustee. Bud was proud of his village and township. He was an avid fan of Margaretta High School athletics. For the last few years he looked forward to going to SMCC football and basketball games. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Castalia.

Bud is survived by a daughter, Deborah Hasenmeier of Huron; one son, Daniel (Julie) Felske of Pickerington, Ohio; three grandchildren, Garrett and Jaclynne Felske and Carie Zimmerman-Ambos; one great grandson, Trenton Zimmerman; sister in law and brother in law, Sue and Don Zenser, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce E. Felske in 2011; his parents, Irving and Esther (Oyler) Felske; one brother, William "Bill" Felske; one sister, Verna Hartley and a grandson Trevor Zimmerman.

Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 PM, Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at the Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. On Wednesday, June 18, 2014 the body will be taken to Grace Lutheran Church, 203 S. Washington Street, Castalia to lie in state from 10:00 AM until time of funeral service at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Kathleen Suggitt will officiate. Burial will be in the Castalia Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Grace Lutheran Church or to the Margaretta Township Fire Department, 113 South Avenue, Castalia, Ohio 44824.
