Ruth J. Parker, age 91, of Castalia, died Monday morning, June 23, 2014, in the Stein Hospice Care Center, following a brief illness.
She was born Sept. 2, 1922, in Sandusky, and was a 1940 graduate of Sandusky High School.
She was a secretary at the former Union Chain for many years, and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Castalia. She loved spending time with her granddaughter, Dawn, and watching Lawrence Welk.
Ruth is survived by her daughter Patricia (Raymond) Turinsky of Sandusky; 4 grandchildren Dawn, Ryan, Amethyst, and Andy; 4 great grandchildren Emma, Parker, Adrian, and Machenzie; her sister-in-law Margaret Parker of Castalia; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Leo in 1996; her parents; and her daughter Pam Wolf in 2012.
Friends may call from 6-8 pm Wednesday, June 25, 2014, in the Ransom Funeral Home, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia. She will lie in state from 9:30 am Thursday, June 26, 2014, until time of services at 10:30 am in Grace Lutheran Church, 203 S. Washington St., Castalia. The Rev. Kathleen Suggitt will officiate and burial will be in Castalia Cemetery.
