Ruth E. Kleinoeder, age 94, of Castalia, died Wednesday night, June 25, 2014, in the Commons of Providence Memory Care Unit, Sandusky.
She was born August 28, 1919, in Castalia, and was a 1937 graduate of Margaretta High School.
She was an avid gardener, loved taking care of her family on the farm, was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the sewing circle, and Bible study group.
Ruth is survived by her son Henry (Ellene) Kleinoeder of Castalia; 3 grandchildren Krista Hermes, Grace and Elise Kleinoeder; one great grandson Mason Hermes; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence "Jiggs" Kleinoeder in 1997; daughter Paula Tobias in 2004; 3 brothers Chester, Smith, and Richard Leitzke; and 3 sisters Evelyn Blair, Bernice Burlovich, and Justine Gangwisch.
There will be no visitation at the Ransom Funeral Home, Castalia. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, June 28, 2014, in Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Bardshar Rd., Sandusky. The Rev. Philip Gardner will officiate and burial will follow in Castalia Cemetery.
