Bonita S. (Koehler) Saleski, 68, residing in Sandusky, passed away early Monday morning, June 30, 2014 at Firelands Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
Bonnie was born on April 16, 1946 in Sandusky, OH.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Elsworth George on March 17, 2004 and Eloise (Schaufelberger) Koehler on December 13, 2002 and a brother, Larry James Koehler in infancy.
Bonnie graduated from Sandusky High School. She was employed at Sandusky Memorial Hospital as a dietician for 16 years before being transferred to Firelands Regional Medical Center for two years and retiring in 2003. Bonnie was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed crafting and spending time with her family and friends. She will be remembered as someone who was easy going and enjoyed life, she touched many lives.
Bonnie is survived by her husband, Stanley A. Saleski, whom she married on May 4, 1974. She is also survived by her great nephew, Tom (Julie) Saleski; nieces, JoAnne Morency and Cynthia Ann (Bretz) Saleski; great niece, Carrie Ann (Michael) McDonald; sister-in-laws, June (Edward) Horvath of NV, Veronica Vince of NJ and Louise A. Mayus of FL and several great-great nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Friends may call on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Friends may also be received on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 11:00 am until the time of prayers at 12:30 pm in the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 pm at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Ave., Sandusky with Father Joe Steinbauer presiding. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky, OH on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at 11:00 am.
