Alberta M. Philliips, 86, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Monday afternoon, June 30, 2014 in Fisher-Titus Medical Center.
She was born January 16, 1928 in Clyde, Ohio to the late George L. and Ruth (Jamison) Carter, and lived most of her life in the Norwalk, Ohio area.
Alberta retired in 1997 with 32 years of service from Circon ACMI, Norwalk, Ohio. She enjoyed crocheting, baking, bowling, was an avid reader, and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Alberta is survived by her husband of 64 ½ years, James G. Phillips, Sr. of Norwalk, Ohio, by her children, Kathleen Phillips and Kay Phillips of Norwalk, Ohio, Karen and James Tyler of Monroeville, Ohio, James G. and Virginia Phillips, Jr. of Salem, Oregon, and Michael and Danielle Phillips of Norwalk, Ohio, 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Annette (Sue) McClaskey of Norwalk, Ohio, Emma Develle of Waveland, Mississippi, and by her brothers, Lawrence Carter of Round Rock, Texas, and Gaylord Carter of Fremont, Ohio.
There will be no calling hours or service. Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio is in charge of arrangements.
