Daniel A. Scott, 63, residing in Sandusky, passed away Saturday afternoon, July 12, 2014 at Admiral's Pointe Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Huron after a lengthy illness.
Daniel was born on July 15, 1950 in Sandusky, OH to Marianne (Kluding) Scott and the late Bender B. Scott, Sr.
Daniel graduated from Sandusky High School and was a graduate of Capital University in Columbus, OH. He was Vice President of Sales at Sandusky International and worked at GNC Foundry in Sandusky. Daniel was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Sandusky and was involved in a variety of professional societies associated with the paper industry. He was a 1987 alumni of Leadership Erie County, formerly L.E.A.D.S., and was active in the Red Cross. Dan was an avid fisherman and boater on Lake Erie and loved to travel, especially with his family.
Daniel is survived by his wife of 43 years, Renata A. (Smith) Scott; sons, Matthew Scott of Dayton, OH and Eric Scott of Sandusky; daughter, Samantha (Scott) Pohorence and son-in-law, Scott Pohorence of Sandusky; grandchildren, Macy and Isaac Pohorence; and numerous other relatives and friends.
In addition to his father, Daniel is preceded in death by his brother, Bender B. Scott, Jr.
Friends may call on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, Daniel's 64th birthday, from 11:00 am until the time of funeral services at 1:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky, OH.
