Shirley (Northcutt) Ballah, 75, residing in Castalia, passed away early Wednesday morning, July 16, 2014 at her residence after a lengthy illness.
Shirley was born on September 4, 1938 in Coxton, KY to the late William and Ollie Mae (Pillion) Northcutt.
She was employed at the former Scott Paper Company for 16 years. Shirley was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Sandusky Eagles. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Shirley is survived by her daughters, Pamela Ballah, Betty (Lenny) Kromer and Lisa (Tom) Metz; son, Donald II (Lisa) Ballah; 12 grandchildren, Krista (Christopher) Hupp, Lenny Kromer, Benjamin Kromer, Lee (Amber) Gustafson, Johnathan Gustafson, Shantel Taylor, Loni Metz, Keith (Ashley) Metz, Thomas (Crystal) Metz, Jacob Metz, Don (Kelly) Ballah III and Dan (Ashley) Ballah; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Phyllis C. (Al) Wiedenheft, Sarah Drossman, Pearl (Charles) Worosher and Sue (Robert) Reer; God-daughter, Shirley Drossman and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Shirley is preceded in death by husband, Donald Ballah I in 1971; brothers, William, Lloyd, George and Jessie Northcutt; sisters, Gladys Dalton, Casey Crum, Ruby Falkner and Elizabeth Wilson.
Friends may call on Friday, July 18, 2014 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 11:00 am in the funeral home with Pastor Peter Dodd, of Grace Baptist Church, Port Clinton, presiding. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
