Florence J. Ferback, 89, of Sandusky died Saturday morning, July 19, 2014 in the Parkvue Health Care Center, Sandusky following a brief illness.
She was born February 25, 1925 in Sandusky.
Florence retired from the former New Departure-Hyatt, Division of General Motors. Prior to this she had retired from the Hills Department Store where she had worked for many years. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Sandusky, the Zone Temple Pythian Sisters #86 and had served as the Past Grand Chief of the State, Sandusky Eagles Auxiliary and the Red Hat Society.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda L. (Terry) Lewis of Sandusky; Dawn A. (James) Barnum of Huron; one son, Kevin (Kristy) Ferback of Sandusky; ten grandchildren, Corey (Alana) Lewis; Jennifer (John) Hartman; special grandson Matthew (Victoria) Lewis; Samantha (Victor) Fronk; Shannon (Ben Schoewe) Davidson; Alle (Eddie) Aquino; Adam Ferback, Ryan Ferback, Zach Ferback and Connor Ferback; six great grandchildren; Amanda, Alyssa, Nolan, Logan, Brooklynn and special great granddaughter, Isabella; one sister, Hethlyn Glovinsky of Sandusky; one brother, Jack (Kathleen) Best of Bellevue, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Ferback in 2001, her parents Albert and Alta (Stevens) Best; one granddaughter, Amanda Lee Lewis; one brother and two sisters.
Friends may call from 4-7:00 PM Monday, July 21, 2014 in the Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky and on Tuesday, from 10:00 AM until time of service at 11:00 AM in the Zion Lutheran Church, 503 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. The Rev. John B. Mawhirter will officiate. Entombment will be in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
