Virginia (Layton) Butts

Virginia (Layton) Butts, 92, of Castalia, passed away Sunday morning, July 20, 2014 at Providence Care Center surrounded by family after a brief illness.

Ginny was born on October 18, 1921 in Charleston, WV to the late Robert and Myrtle Layton.

Ginny was always quick to smile and had an infectious laugh. In her spare time she enjoyed walking and people watching. She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her three generations of grandchildren.

Ginny is survived by her daughter, Carolyn A. Wobser; son, Allen H. Butts of Fremont; grandchildren, Carl (Peggy) Wobser III, Craig (Jean) Wobser, Clint Wobser, Carla (Doug) Hawkins, Patty (Rick) Hopple, Paula Butts, Scott (Gina) Butts; great-grandchildren, Carl IV, Tiffany (Ben), Cory, Courtney, Chelsea, Megan, Nathanael, Emmalee, Jessica (Kody), Rick (Tabitha) and Athena; great-great-grandchildren, David, Elijah, and Nathaniel; two step- great-great grandchildren, Brooklynn and Tristan; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, Virginia is preceded in death by her husband, William H. Butts in 1978; great-great grandson, Finn Gotschall; sister, Freda Ritz; brothers, Clifford, Edward, Harry, Glendon and Conard Layton and son-in-law, Carl Wobser Jr.

A private family service will take place at Meadow Green Memorial Park with Rev. Scott Robles presiding. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron, OH.
