Elroy L. Rollison

Elroy L. Rollison, 72, of Sandusky, died Sunday, July 20, 2014 in Firelands Regional Medical Center.

He was born in Sandusky on November 26, 1941, and was a 1959 graduate of Sandusky High School.

He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Elroy was employed by Prepared Foods for 28 years and Busch & Thiem Co. for 10 years.

He was a member of Harvest House Missionary Baptist Church, and for a long time was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. Elroy was a member of the Men's Chorus of Harvest House, American Legion Post 83, Sandusky, where he was past county commander, called bingo for the American Legion, and was a member of the 40 & 8 club. He was also a member of the NAACP, numerous pool and bowling leagues, and he loved barbequing and family reunions.

Elroy is survived by his wife of 44 years, Lula (Porter) Rollison; children, Jason (Mileasa) Rollison, Sandusky, Ken (Debra) Rollison, Sylvania, OH, Kim Rollison and Derrick Rollison, both of Milwaukee, WI; grandchildren, Kenneth, II, Olmni, Morgan, Jazmin, Lawrence, Tanya, Marquise, Maya and Jordan; two great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Lou (Douglas) Gowdy, Sandusky; brothers, Benjamin Rollison and Maron Ervin Rollison, both of Sandusky; nephew, Vincent Rollison; special friend, Deborah North; and a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louie Leroy and Eunice (Rice) Rollison; a son in infancy, Bernard; and a special friend, Franklin North.

Friends may call on Thursday, July 24, 2014 from 6-9 P.M. at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 12 P.M. (Noon) in Harvest House Missionary Baptist Church, 265 Jackson St., Sandusky (First Presbyterian Church). Rev. Josiah Brown will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery where the American Legion Post 83 Color Guard will provide military honors.
