Barbara J. Kohlmeyer, 80, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2014 in her home.
She was born November 11, 1933 in Norwalk, Ohio to the late Clarence P. and Elizabeth D. (Seery) Clark and was a lifelong area resident.
Barbara was a 1951 graduate of Norwalk High School and was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. She was a former Probation Officer for Huron County Juvenile Courts, and had also worked in the Huron County Probate Court. Barbara was the former owner of Norwalk Book Express and the Book Nook, was a former employee of Rexall Drug Store, Harters Pharmacy, J.C. Penny, and Battles Insurance Company. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and especially enjoyed being a wife, mother and grandmother.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert Kohlmeyer of Norwalk, Ohio, by her children, Terri J. and Jeffrey Rule of Ooltewah, Tennessee, John "Jack" R. Kohlmeyer of Norwalk, Ohio, Timothy Michael Kohlmeyer of Norwalk, Ohio, and Thomas E. Kohlmeyer of Norwalk, Ohio, and 3 grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Elizabeth (Bill) Farnsley of Marengo, Indiana, Nancy (Jay) Thornhill of Huron, Ohio, and Margaret Mary "Peg" Pollotta of Litchfield, Arizona.
Friends may call on Thursday, July 24, 2014 from 5 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 25, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 East Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Rev. Kenneth Morman will officiate. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
