Ted E. Grote, age 60, of Bellevue passed away Thursday, July 24, 2014 at his home.
He was born August 4, 1953 in Bellevue the son of M. Eugene and Marna (Metzger) Grote.
Ted was a 1971 graduate of Bellevue Senior High School. He worked for General Motors and Delphi in Sandusky as a setup man until his retirement in 2008. Ted was a member of UAW Local 913 and enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, working on cars, and computers.
He is survived by his wife, Eva "Kathy" (Crites), whom he married June 1, 1996 at Zion Episcopal Church, Monroeville; 1 son, Kyle (Emily) Grote of Chesnee, SC; two daughters, Nicole Thomas and Heather Pratt of Frankfort, IN; stepdaughter, Theresa Ball of Willard; father, Eugene (Betty Goss) Grote; 6 grandchildren; and sisters: Gayle (Scott) Francis of Bellevue; Colleen (Tim) Soule of Clyde, and Jill (Scott) Gildenmeister of Bellevue; in-laws; Bob & Pam Crites of Norwalk, Larry & Barb Gillaspie of Dover, Don & Wendy Crites of Cynthiana, KY, and many nieces and nephews.
Ted was preceded in death by his mother, Marna Grote; nephew, Chad Francis; niece; Beth Crites, step-son, Freddie Ball Jr and niece, Beth Crites.
Friends will be received on Sunday, July 27, 2014 from 3-6 p.m. at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue where a funeral service officiated by Rev. Justin Jump ,will be held on Monday at 10 a.m.
