Howard L. Rosebrook

Howard L. Rosebrook, 92, of Sandusky passed away peacefully, Wednesday, August 27, 2014, in Stein Hospice Care Center, with his wife Virginia and children at his side.

He was born on August 29, 1921 in Wauseon, OH, to the late Ralph and Flossie Rosebrook.

Howard served his country in the U.S. Army WWII 1st Battalion-302 ordinance Regiment, where he was a machinist. After the military he was employed by the former New Departure Hyatt until his retirement in 1979.

His entire life he enjoyed spending time on Lake Erie, boating and fishing with family and friends. He was an avid Cedar Point coaster-rider and a fan of the shows. After retirement he and his wife, wintered in Harbor Lights, St. Petersburg, Florida.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, to whom he married on March 14, 1948, Virginia "Ginny" (McDole) Rosebrook; children, Lynne (Dan) Vorst, Kalida, OH, and Myron Rosebrook, Sandusky; grandchildren, Amber (Buck) Rosengarten and Kyle (Lyssa Deskins) Vorst; great-grandchildren, Brystol, Jayda, and Tegan Rosengarten; sister, Doris Jean (Rosebrook) Mason; sister-in-law, Von McDole; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Cloyce and Edna McDole; brothers-in-law, Bill Mason and Don McDole.

The family feels especially blessed to have had the support of the Stein Hospice nurses, aides, and counselors during Howard's journey.

At his request cremation will take place. A memorial celebration of his life for family and friends will take place at a later date.
